NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation

星期六參加的audition原來是這個：
New York Musical Theatre Festival 2009
如今au的天昏地暗
常常要au什麼都有點搞不太清楚！
ha....反正都去就是了！管他上不上要不要,就是都要參加！

當天晚上收到call back消息
所以今晚（Sun.）6pm回到原來的地方報到

下午還是去東初禪寺帶合唱團練習
因為下個星期六在Flushing有個演出
羞(#￣▽￣#)
還帶婆婆媽媽合唱團呢！
當然主要還是唱些佛曲
本來想就是發願當個義工也好
結果他們人真是太好
竟然還是收了團費付給我車馬費
拒絕都拒絕不了>
原本他們法會在3pm結束,一般都拖到4：30pm才開始
但因為我晚上得趕去city所以大家都很努力的快點排位置
準備好練習
真的就感心～

只帶了一個小時多就想說得趕車子
怕地鐵又拖拉
到禪寺時也跟佛祖頂禮
希望可以多給我一點機會！^^

結束後多虧了馬師兄貴人呢
特地開車帶我去曼哈頓
還比預定的時間早到了一個多小時
悠閒安靜的在星巴克吃個麵包讀譜,準備一下
5:40pm緩緩的走到對面就到了
真好～

等了大約半個多小時就輪到我
這大概是我在這第一次的call back吧！
除了Miss Saigon留下來跳舞不算
The king and I 也是當天留下來
哈哈哈..好吧！這不算是第一次
是第三次！！！> 手指頭都算的出來
爛死了

我在Face Book上的Status寫著：WISH ME LUCK
回來一看有10來人給我祝福
我想有這麼多人幫我加持,今天真的運氣會很好吧～
真感謝!

照常還是準備一首全首個曲子
還有一個16 bars
唱完我第一首
坐中間的主審（看起來很年輕）
要求我從中後段再唱一次
可是more ground
身體不要側掉重心擺好
才能把那個決心與力量表現的穩當

有趣的audition
像是master class一般的還給了我點指示
讓我再試一次
問我感覺如何？
我語言表達欠佳,只好比出我的大拇哥,直說讚（好土）

然後16 bars 我唱了Judy Garland 的"Do it again"
唱完心裡鬆了很多
因為感覺上是選對了曲子
和上一首差別很大
需要多一點的acting,聲音上只需要低而溫暖的性感聲音

主審開玩笑說：我還想繼續聽你唱,但是沒有時間了呢！
我想,今晚的audition似乎相當順利
起碼我自己覺得不錯,沒有爛掉或so so 的感覺結束.

真好！
Audition最主要的其實也不是想要得到什麼反應
當然,看他們的臉也看得出來
只是當你有了一個自己感覺表現的很好,很舒服,曲子選的很恰當
伴奏也接的好,沒出什麼大錯,感覺很融入
那真的就夠了～

接下來就都是看運氣啦！

回到家在把網站看過一次
喔～現在才搞懂這到底是幹嘛用的
這其實是一個像選拔Muiscal theatre的新秀
在眾多人當中最後挑選出10位
也就是第三輪
在一個公開的演出地演出
當然這是售票的形式,當然很便宜,好像是$10
並邀請一些有名的劇界人士如：Anthony Rapp, Marc Shaiman, Lonny Price, Manoel Felciano,Tom Kitt
現場做投票評判在依據當場的觀眾簡訊投票（聽起來真的很像American Idol）
最後選出一為優勝者

優勝者可以得到一場自己的cabaret concert
當然也會多一些呈現自己的機會
這已經是第四屆的舉辦了！
2007的優勝者不久後也得到了"South Pacific"當中的其一角色
應該是真的很優秀吧～

Open auditions for NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation will be held on Saturday, August 29th from 10am to 7pm at Roy Arias Theatre Center (300 West 43rd Street/5th floor). Callbacks will be held on Sunday, August 30th from 3pm to 9pm. NYMF's “Next Broadway Sensation” is open to singers aged 18 and over who have tons of Broadway flair but no Broadway credits. Potential ‘Broadway Sensations’ should prepare 16 bars of the show tune that best demonstrates their vocal chops and attend the open auditions on August 29th. An accompanist will be provided, but aspiring sensations need to bring sheet music, headshots and resumes.

New York Musical Theatre Festival's “Next Broadway Sensation,” formerly known as “Broadway Idol,” returns for its fourth year. Produced by NYMF and sponsored by TheaterMania and DFD TV in association with The Network, this talent competition seeks to find the newest musical theatre star. The winner will receive a special solo concert, co-presented by NYMF and Sh-K-Boom Records, as well as a featured track on an upcoming Stage Stars accompaniment album.

Diana DeGarmo, “American Idol” (Season 3) runner-up, now in The Toxic Avenger at New World Stages, will serve as host for the competition’s first round on September 13; celebrity hosts for the semifinals on September 20 and the Broadway Sensation October 4 finale will be announced shortly. Confirmed judges include Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, upcoming film Taking Woodstock), Bailey Hanks and Orfeh (Legally Blonde), composer/lyricist Paul Scott Goodman (Rooms), Kacie Sheik and Allison Case (Hair), and record producer Noah Cornman of Sh-k-boom Records… With more to be announced. This year's competition features Christopher D. Littlefield as musical director with NYMF Senior Associate Producer Eric Louie as director.
